FIRE-- overtook this mobile home at 180 Blosser Ranch Road on Sunday
November 2. Marie Bistiline and her five year old son were home during the
blaze but were not injured. The Bistiline family said they cannot afford the cost
of repairs and are seeking help from the community. The pictureabove shows
the outside of the home after the fire. The fire broke out this bedroom window,
leaving smoke stains on the outside. Below, what used to be the Bistiline's
kitchen was reduced to little more than rubble.

Fire causes problems for local family

A Sunday for a lot of people is a good day for
relaxing. For the Bistiline family, however, their
Sunday on November 2, was just the opposite
when their house caught fire.
Marie Bistiline was taking an afternoon nap
when her five year old son came running into her
room yelling that the house was on fire. Neigh-
bors from next door and across the street saw
white smoke coming from the house and quickly
dialed 911, then ran to the house to help.
"I had several hoses," said Bistiline. "So the
neighbors from across the street started spraying
down the house until the fire department got
there."
The fire department had gotten there in time to
at least save half the house, which included the
living room, dining room, one
of the bathrooms and a bed-
room. The child's bedroom,
back bathroom, and the kitchen
were all destroyed.
According to the fire de-
partment the fire was started by
someone playing with matches
or a lighter, but Bistiline doesn't
think so.
"By the look of the bums. I
believe the fire was an electri-
cal problem in the ceiling of the
kitchen," Bistiline said. "All of
the upper part and ceiling of the
house is burned badly while the
lower part wasn't burned that
much at all."
The Bistiline's problem now
is that they don't have the money
to pay for repairs, added to the
fact that they didn't have insur-
ance. The Red Cross, Saddle
West and others in the commu-
nity have helped out the
Bistilines a lot by donating
clothes and other immediate re-
sources they may need.
'q'hose people have given
us a lot of help and we appreciate what they are
doing for us," Bistiline said. "Our biggest prob-
lem is the fact that we need money donated. We
need all the help we can get."
The Bistilines are currently staying in a trailer
that is parked next to the house while they try to
clean up the mess. The family hopes to be able
to move back in soon.
'Tm laughing and trying not to let myself
down," Bistiline said. "I go in and clean up the
house just to keep myself occupied because still
inside I get upset and mad."
As of yet, Bistiline doesn't know if they are
going to move back in the house or not. "The
house is fixable," she said. "But whether or not
we do it all depends on how much it's going to
