Speedway
rescheduled
The last Pahrump Valley
Speedway race of the season
that was supposed to take
place on October 25 was re-
scheduled for Sunday, No-
vember 9, at 2p.m. The rea-
son for the change was due to
cold weather conditions fore-
cast for the night of the race.

Moratorium
Meeting
A special meeting has
been called for Thursday, Oc-
tober 30, at the Pahrump Fire
Station to discuss the Nye
County Commissioners de-
cision on upholding a mora-
torium on parcel maps in the
Pahrump Valley. The meet-
ing is to gain support to over-
turn the decision. For more

Our Bingo is really doing
well. The coverall is up to 61
numbers for $300. We also
have a money ball that in-
creases weekly and we look
for it to pass up the coverall
next week. We play every
Wednesday night at the
Amargosa Desert Senior
Center at 7 p.m. Hope to see
you there. We really have
fun along with great door
prizes.

on November 18 at the
Amargosa Senior center at 7
p.m. We will also have elec-
tions of two officers. Try to
make it and let your voice be

Amargosa Valley Days
is right around the corner.
We are still in need of baby
pageant entries. Please con-
tact your chamber of com-
merce for entry forms. There
are still a few tables left for
the swap meet, contact Mike

We are also in need of ama-
teur acts for entertainment
to fill in a couple of hours.
There is going to be live
brodcasting from the TV sta-
tion as well as radio and you
may be discovered. So be
sure and come down and join
the fun.
Arcon offers
special for flu
shots
With the influenza sea-
son just around the corner,
the Arcon Pahrump Center
for Healthcare. 1501 E.
calvada Blvd, Pahrump, is
offering flu shots every
Monday starting October 20
through November 10.
Canna Krietler, executive
director of the center said
flu shots will be available
from 8 a.m. to noon October
20, October 27, November 3
and November 10. No ap-
pointment is necessary. The
vaccine contains three dif-
ferent flu virus strains that
are likely to circulate in the
upcoming winter.
The flu season begins in
late October and peaks in
mid-January. Health au-
thorities recommend shots
be administered from Octo-
ber to mid-November
Meet Punkin'
Meet Punkin', the Porce-
lain Doll. She is 21" long
and weighs five pounds. She
is a limited edition casting,
and valued at $400. She is
completely poseable as her
arms and legs are secured by
buttons, and her clothing is
machine washable.
She was made by a lady
in Pahurmp (Vyola
Langston) who casts, tints,
fires, paints and dresses her
creations.
Vyola has donated
PUNKIN' to be raffled off at
the end of our Craft Show
and sale on November 8,
between 6-7 p.m. in the
Church Hall at the Our Lady
of the Valley Catholic
Church. The proceeds are to
be used for church expan-
sion.
Tickets will be sold after
each weekend mass begin-
ning October 25 and at the
Church Hall on November
8. The price is $1 each or $5
for 6.

Painting the
Church of Christ
On November 1-2 the
Kiwanis Club of Pahrump
Valley will be giving the
Church of Christ a new paint
job. Saturday, November 1
will be devoted to cleaning
and prepping, starting at 8
a.m. Painting will begin on
Sunday, November 2, at 12
noon. The church is located
at 911 S. Lola Lane, Pahr-
ump. Come down and lend a
hand, all volunteers are wel-
come.
Christmas
Coalition meeting
The Christmas Coalition
meeting will be November 4
at the office of Independent
Building Inspection Corpo-
ration on 921. S. Highway,
Suite 203, Wheeler Springs
Plaza.
This meeting is so impor-
tant to all organizations and
churches who serve the com-
munity for the needy. We are
striving to eliminate dupli-
cation of names not, what
you are going to give the
needy.
