Tuesday October 7. He had refused to pull over the Ford crew
cab pickup when pursued and was driving in a reckless
manner with his three year old son. He was stopped and
cornered by police cars in Shoshone. He refused to obey
officers and get out of the pickup even after repeated requests.
The deputies then broke the window and removed him from
the vehicle. His son remained in the crew cab. Barrackman
then tried to run and was tackled to the ground and cuffed. His
son was taken by an EMT to
the nearby health center for
safety.
Nye County charges are
assault with a deadly weapon
(pickup truck), eluding an
officer, battery on an officer,
resisting arrest, obstructing
an officer and child endan-
germent.
Even though the arrest was
made by Nye County Depu-
ties, Barrackman was trans-
ported and held in Indepen-
dence, California because the
arrest was made in Inyo
County. He now faces three
additional counts in Inyo
County which are assault on
a peace officer, malicious
mischief and attempted es-
cape.
The boy was taken to Pahr-
ump by Deputy Becht until
his mother could be reached.

the biggest victory to date in
our fight with the nuclear in-
