Memorandum of Cooperation The U.S. Department of Energy's Nevada Operations Office, the Nevada Test Site Development Corporation, and the Las Vegas Motor Speedway will sign a Memo- randum of Cooperation (MOC) 10:30 a.m., Thurs- day, October 2 on the track at the Las Vegas Motor Speed- way. The agreement affirms the willingness of the signatories to work together to support the development and com- mercialization of advanced vehicle technologies and promising alternative, clean- burning fuels, including hy- drogen, for transportation. A demonstration vehicle utilizing a blend of natural gas and hydrogen also will be on display. With Las Vegas' deteriorating air quality, this technology presents a valu- able opportunity to test, dem- onstrate and commercialize advanced, environmentally clean, fuel technologies. i Friends of the Library meets Friends of the Library will hold a business meeting Oc- tober 4, at 9:30 a.m. at the Pahrump Community Li- brary. Manse kindergartners need your help Kindergartners in Mrs. Mills' class are collecting alu- minum cans to learn about recycling and to earn money for educational materials for their classroom and school. In addition to recycling the cans, Manse students are pull- ing the tabs off the cans to donate to a girl who is in need of kidney dialysis. She re- ceives one free minute of di- alysis for each tab. If you would like to do- nate cans, they can be dropped off at Manse Elementary School at any time. Look for the sign on the fence on the west side of the school and just toss your cans over. PV Square Dance club class Pahrump Valley Square ...Or A Dance club will be holding classes to learn square danc- ing every Tuesday at the Manse Elementary School, Pahrump, all-purpose build- ing from 8-10 p.m. There will also be a plus workshop at 7 p.m. Fore more information call James Laute at 727-6870. Little League meeting There will be a Little League meeting on Wednes- day, October 22, at the Stage- coach Sage Room, Beatty, at 7p.m. On the agenda will be year end business, election of of- ricers and open discussion about dividing Amargosa and Beatty. Public support would be appreciated. This meeting is open to the community. We encour- age everyone who has a child active in the league to attend. Although the Beatty/ Amargosa Little League is i sanctioned by the National Little League Assoiciation, it cannot function without the support of the community. It is your league and it is up to you who makes decisions for the league your children par- ticipate in. Your input gives us a better understanding of what your expectations are, helps us prepare for the next year, gives us feed back for setting goals, and overall makes us a stronger group. Generally this meeting is about one to one and a half hours long.
