Benefit car wash
Benefit car wash for the
family of Lacey VanSickel,
will be held on September 28,
8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Smith's
parking lot.
Lacey, a Pahrump teen was
seriously injured in a car acci-
dent on September 19. Her
family has no insurance to
cover the extensive medical
expenses.
Donations are also being
collected by Lacey's class-
mates at the Pahrump Valley
High School. Donations to
the medical fund can also be
made by calling Joseph or
Pamela Laub at 727-1248.
Raffle winner
Stephanie Chapman of Las
Vegas was the Grand Prize
winner of the raffle held by
the Fraternal Order of Eagles
Aerie #4373 at the Harvest
Festival. She won a 25" color
TV donated by Super Pawn.
FOE meeting
Fraternal Order of Eagles
Aerie #4373 held their regu-
lar meeting at the Community
Center on Monday night, Sep-
tember 22. Five new mem-
bers were initiated into the
Aerie. Gloria and Chuck
Hudson, Myrtle and Chester
Geiger and Julius Walder. An-
other new member Mohan
Samlal was recently initiated.
Refreshments were served
following the meeting.

walking program, Take Off
Pounds Sensibly (TOPS)
chapters across North
America will hold its "Joining
TOPS Heart and Soles" walk-
ing event on Saturday, Sep-
tember 27, with Pahrump
chapters meeting on Calvada
Blvd. just west of Highway
160 at 7 a.m.
TOPS group walking pro-
gram, "Get in TOPShape" is
part of an ongoing effort to
help members achieve and
maintain their weight loss
goals. The groups meet at
specified times and sites regu-
larly to support and motivate
each other with their exercise
regimen.

Indian National
Finals Rodeo
Tickets for the 21st An-
nual Indian National Finals
Rodeo (INFR), to be held in
Reno on Oct. 2-5, are now
available. With a prize purse
'of more than $200,000 the
INFR is the richest rodeo per-
formance in the history of
Indian rodeo.
Performances begin Oct. 2
and continue through OCt. 5 at
the Reno Livestock Events
Center Indoor Arena, where
cowboys and cowgirls will
compete in five shows and vie
for World Championship tides.
