The 1982-83 Miss Pahxump was Diane Gaines; Cindy Shakespeare, ist runner-up; and Gena Kendall, 2nd runner-up, according to Glenda Smith and Cathy Cressler, who searched through festival records. Harvest Festival pioneers remembered that a large part of running in the early Miss Pahrump contests meant that the girls had to sell tickets for the raffle. Atha Connely's father donated a shetland pony for the grand prize at the first festival. The middle photo shows Ron and Charlotte Floyd's grandchildren on a circus-themed float with a gorLHa  black panther. They are C.J. Moore, Jennifer Moore, Christina Floyd and Shelley Floyd. Sandy Widrig walked along side to see that the  didn't fall off. The bottom photo shows a stuffed dummy riding a bucking bronco.
