1979 PARADE---The above 3 photos are all from" the 1979 Harvest Festival
Parade. Top photo is an unidentified honor guard and horseback rider. The
middle photo shows lions thought to be from a local exotic animal ranch that
was near Homestead Road and owned by Jeanie Hinman at the time. A cub
rides on top of the cage with 2 handlers. The bottom photo shows Lyle
Christensen's crop dusting Cessna. This was the only year in which he "zig-
zagged" over the parade. "A lotof people thought I would run into them,"
Christenn said as he described his antics' while entertaining the parade
goers. If anyone has ever wondered what CAAS, the first road off of Hwy.
160 into Pahnnnp as you travel north, stands for, he offered, 'Christensen
Aerial Application Service.' He ran the crop dusting business for
approximately 24 years.
