Drewniak is halfway through
Marine Lance Cpl. Michael Drewniak, son of Dennis and
Vickie Drewniak of Tonopah, Nev., is halfway through a six-
month deployment to the Western Pacific and Indian oceans,
serving with the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, embarked
aboard the ships of theUSS Boxer Amphibious Ready Group.
The 1995 graduate of Cimarron Memorial High School
joined the Marine Corps in August 1994.
Worman completes basic training
Navy Airman Appretice Gregory M. Worman, son of
Gwendolyn R. Savage of Death Valley, Calif., recently com-
pleted U,S; Navy basic training at Recruit Training Com-
mand, Great Lakes, I11., with honors and was meritoriously
promoted to his present rank.
Moen deployed to Mediterranean
AMARGOSA VALLEY- Navy Airman Trinity L. Moen, son
of Harold O. Moen Jr. of Amargosa Valley, is halfway through
a six-month deployment to the Mediterranean Sea aboard the

aircraft carrier USS John F. Kennedy.
Moen is one of more thar 5.000 sailors and Marines aboard
the ship, which departed itb home port of Ma}post, Fta, to lead
the USS John F. Kennedy Battl ;roup.

Monk completes basic training
Marine Pvt. William L. Monk, son of William H. Monk of
Beatty, Nev., recently completed basic training at Marine Corps
Recruit Depot, San Diego.
Monk successfully completed 12 weeks of training designed
to challenge new Marine recruits both physically and mentally.
Lafferty completes Motor Transport
School
Marine Pvt. Alan W. Lafferty, son of Bruce A. and Mary L.
Lafferty of Tonopah, Nev., recently completed Motor Transport
School.
During the course with Marine Corps Detachment, U.S.
Arm Engineer School. Fort
LeonaM Wood. Mo. students received
classroom and hands-on instruction on
the operation of the M-151 Jeep and the
new M-293 automatic five-ton truck. Studies
also include the proper procedures for traveling in convoys,
blackout condition driving and rough terrain driving.
He joined the Marine corps in October 1997.
Sullivan returns from deployment
Marine Lance Cpl. Robert N. Sullivan, son of William F.
Sullivan of Beatty, Nev., recently returned to Camp
Pendelton, Calif., from a six-month deployment with Battal-
ion Landing Team 2/4 as part of the 31 st Marine Expedition-
ary Unit (Special Operations Capable).
The 1995 graduate of Beatty High School of Beatty,
joined the Marine Corps in September 1995.

Zenia Oscar
Zenia Oscar, 66, died August 15, 1997, in Smith Valley,
Nevada. She was born on December I t, 1930 in New York, N.Y.
Retired from several family owned Pahrump businesses, she
was a 25 year resident of Pahrump.
She is survived by her husband, Bob of Pahrump; son and

Richard E. Campbell
Richard E. Campbell, 55, died August 15, 1997, in Pahrump,
Nevada. He was a two year resident of Pahrump, coming from
Southern California.
A funeral director and embalmer, he was born February 25,
1942, in Jackson Hole, Wyo.
He is survived by his wife, Lois of Pahrump; sons, Kirk of
Pocatello, Idaho and Fred of Kemmer, Wyo.; stepsons, Jerome
and Gerry Stillions of Ind.; stepdaughter, Jerri Goldenberry of
Tujunga, Calif.; brothers, Ron and Bob of Jacks9n, Wyo.; sister,
Robin of Morristown, Ariz.; and four grandchildren.

26 year resident of Pahrump.
He is survived by his wife,
Mary James of Pahrump; sons
Kenneth Ray and Michael of
Las Vegas; stepson, David
Krausnick of Las Vegas; broth-
ers, Jim and Jerry Heptner, Pat
Cornforth all of Las Vegas; sis-
ter, Barbara Berry of Monterey,
Calif; and one grandchild.
Services were held at the Palm Mortuary in Las Vegas. Palm
Mortuary handled the arrangements.
Beverly Buchanan
Beverly Ellen Buchanan, 63, died on August 12, 1997, in
Pahrump, Nev.
A homemaker, she was born on May 12, 1934, in Los Angeles,
Calif. She was a former resident of Pahrump, then moved to
Cedar City, Utah.
She is survived by her husband, Don of Cedar City, Utah; son,
John Studebaker of Las Vegas; daughters, Kathy Studebaker of
Cedar City, Utah, Karen Studebaker and Kim Douglas both of
Las Vegas; and eight grandchildren.
Services were held at the Desert Memorial Chapel in Las
Vegas. Desert Memorial handled the arrangements.
Mark Graham
Mark Albert Graham, 35, died August 11, 1997, in Pahrump,
Nev. He was a one year resident of Pahrump, coming from Las
Vegas.
A fir•fighter for EGG Special Projects and a member of the
International Order of Firefighters, he was born May 26, 1962, in
Livermore, Calif.
He is survived by his son, Joshua; daughters, Ashlyn and
Skyler, all of Pahrump; mother, Dale Bowman of Burlington,
Iowa; father, Robert of Lodi, Calif.; brothers, Scott of Fremont,
Calif. and Daniel of Reno, Nev.; and grandmother, Irene Klein of
Burlington, Iowa.
Services were held at the Good Shepherd Church in Las
Vegas. The Neptune Society of Nye County handled the arrange-
ments.
Faith Pusztai
Faith Rae Pusztai, 17 months, died August 11, 1997, at Arcon
Pahrump Medical Center, Pahrump, Nev.
A resident of Pahrump, she was born in Henderson on March
5, 1996.
She is survived by her mother, Sara Pusztai; father, Sonny
Wieder; brothers; Bradley Smith and Brendan Wieder all of
Pahrump; grandparents Larry and Karen Wieder of Las Vegas
and Stephanie Smith and David Boner of Pahrump.
