We're back again with tidbits of happenings at the
senior center. We hope you find them enjoyable and
informative.
The Tonopah Diabetic Support Group will be having
their monthly meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 13, at 1 p.m.
here at the center. The topic of the day will be "Take time
to read the labels." Every diabetic will agree that what you
want to eat might not be what you should be eating. A
sensible diet can often play an important role in controlling
diabetes. Plan to attend. You will be glad you did.
Have you picked up your Tonopah Senior Cookbook
yet? We only have a few left. Remember, these recipes are
from the local seniors and friends in the community. All
these folks are among the finest cooks you will find
anywhere. It also makes an excellent gift for your loved
ones to cherish for years to come, and the price is right at
$8.50 each. Don't delay, stop by today.
We enjoyed a brief chat with Ben and Betty DeKoek
from Southern California. They were here visiting their
longtime friend Rosemary Mitchell, Media and Loft Holton
from Carson City, and Shirley and Jim Morey of T0nopah.
We hope they enjoyed their time with us.
Once again we send our thank you and deepest appre-
ciation to Carl and Laurie Newberry for another generous
donation. We really appreciate your kindness ad the
support you have given our center, And thank yotrt6 Helen
and Jerry D'Ottavio for the beautiful bouquet of Holly-
hocks. We always love flowers. They add that extra touch
of beauty to the dinning room.
