Alzheimer and stroke support group meet from 1- 2:30 p.m. the third Wednesday of the month. Call the center at 727-5008 if you have any questions. Free care giving is offered. Volunteers needed, call 727-5800. A wide variety of open- ings to choose from, including being a senior companion and van drivers. We hope you are enjoying the summer and are able to spend time with family and friends in outdoor activities. The Project Council will be holding its monthly meet- ing July 23 at 9 a.m. Welcome aboard to Carol Bell who is working at the Senior Thrift Shop. We are delighted having her as part of our team. We are pleased to announce that our average meal participation count for the month of June was 72.95. Our center may be small, but we keep growing - thanks to all you folks who join us each day. Our kitchen stafff is to be commended for the terrific job they do and the devotion they have to the Center. They constantly go that extra mile to prepare nutritious, delicious and well balanced meals for you. And, to our senior volunteers who donate their time in lending a helping hand. How could we possibly go wrong with so much support? Thanks for all your help and remember, we need you and we love you. Our week would not be complete if we neglected to mention our guests. Joining us were L. Pennington, Eunice O'Bryant, Marry Johnson, Lucile Scheutz, Angie and Rick Blakemore, Bill and Van Crawford, Virginia Ridgway, Debbie Kaminski and Myrtle McKinney. This award was issued by the Governor. Gayla Leake was in the center with donations from her peach tree. Chris and Clary Filter are home from their extended trip. Sounds like they had a great time. They even got to see real live, wet rain! We welcome aboard Mike Kyner, who will be with us for the summer. Mike has had previous experience in the kitchen. His mother, Jean, was our cook for a while. Cladbel Dansby has not been feeling well,;our prayers for you, feel better soon. The pie sales have really gone great, it is to the point, that if you want one of Mike's pies, come early. Ice Cream Sunday will be Aug. 10. Reserve your table fc the swap meet now. Contact Made Reagle at 372-5413 or 372- 5655. Aug. 8 is the deadline for tables. We need bakers and donations for the sweet shop. Sign up now or call 372-5413. If possible, we would like to have pie tins back so we can recycle them with new pies. Donations from all these gardens that are greening up would surely be appreciated. So we start over again on July 17 with $150 in 50 numbers, so on July 24 the jackpot will be $155 in 51 numbers. Lane Schultz had to empty out his fish supply in his freezer so he could go fishing again We helped. We ate the fish and thoroughly enjoyed it. Happy fishing next time Schultzes, we love being the beneficiaries of your catch. We now have our new chairs for the new center. Only problem is we have no place to use them_yet_stay tuned! Reminder, Friday, July 25, is our evening Birthday meal. We had hoped to be in our new home before that time. The wheels of progress run slower than our hopeful plans, so, it looks like we'll celebrate July birthdays at the same old stand. Come join us and help Jo Davis, Richard Gregory and Leora Brown celebrate their birthdays!
