Z 1997 25 Pahrump Valey Gazette, Thursday, July 10, In the Service iiii in Moen on deployment Navy Airman Trinity L. Moen, son of Harold O. Moen Jr. of Amargosa Valley, who is currently on a six-month deploy- ment to the Mediterranean Sea aboard the aircraft carrier USS John F. Kennedy, recently completed a six-day port visit to Marseilles, France. The 1994 graduate ofDel Norte High School ofDel Norte, Colo., joined the Navy in November 1994. Stark awarded Marine Cpl. Jeffrey S. Stark, son of Margaret E. Stark of Pahrump, recently received a Meritorious Mast. Stark was cited for outstanding service while assigned with 2rid Battalion, 4th Marines, 1 st Marine Division, marine Corps Base, Camp Pendleton, Calif. Stark was awarded a Meritorious Mast by his command- ing officer as official recognition for superior individual ,erformance. The 1994 graduate of Lincoln County High School of Panaca, joined the Marine Corps in July 1994. Summers promoted Marine Cpl. Peter L. Summers, a 1995 graduate of Winslow (Ariz.) High School was recently meritoriously promoted to his present rank while serving with the 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marines, 3rd Marine Division, Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii. He joined the Marine Corps in January 1995. Sayegh part of Maneuver Marine Sgt. Jean Sayegh, son of Elias and Judith M. Sayegh of Pahrump recently participated in the exercise entitled "Air Warrior," at Nellis Air Force Base. Sayegh serves with Marine Attack Squadron 214, located in Yuma, Ariz. The 1989 graduate of Valley High School of Las Vegas, joined the Marine Corps in June 1989. Drewniak on deployment Marine Lance Cpl. Michael Drewniak, son of Dennis and Vickie Drewniak of Tonopah, Nev., recently completed a month-long, U.S.-Jordan military exercise while attached to the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), currently on a six-month deployment to the Western Pacific Ocean. The 1995 graduate of Cimarron Memorial High School joined the Marine Corps in August 1994. Obituaries Doyan A. Fountain Doyan A. Fountain died July 6, 1997, in a Las Vegas hospital. A retired school director and Army Veteran, he was born December 6, 1917, in Arkansas. He was a one year resident of Pahrump. He is survived by his wife Anita of Pahrump; son, Charles FoUntain of Ione, Calif.; daughter, Louise Buckmaster of Vista, Calif; sister, Clesta Fields of Portee Okla.; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Services were held on July 9 at the Pahrump Family Mortuary. Ray Hall Ray Elbert Hall, 77, died July 7, 1997, in Pahrump, Nev. A member of VFW, and Moose and retired Army Veteran, he was born March 30, 1920, in Sharon, Kan. He was a 19 year resident of Pahrump. He is survived by his wife, Beverly of Pahrump; stepson, James Sheets of Vancouve Wash.; stepdaughter, Sandra Stefani of Jefferson, Ore. and two grandchildren. Private family services were held. Neptune Society of Nye 1 County handled arrangements. Earl Gilbertson Earl Gustav Gilbertson, 85, died June 25, 1997, in Las Vegas. A retired motel and resort owner, he was born February 12, 1912 in Benson, Minn. He was a four year resident of Pahrump. He is survived by cousins, Betty Pearson of Arizona, Delores Wilson, Kathryn Smith and Lillian Wynn of Minne- sota. Services were held July 3, 1997 at the Pahrump Commu- nity Cemetary, Dr. Glen Harrison officiated. Arrangements were handled by the Neptune Society of Nye County. A member of VFW, DAV, Masonics and Shriners and an Army Veteran, he was born November 3, 1931 in Wahoo, Neb. He was a 20 year resident of Pahrump. He is survived by his wife, Elesabeth and son, Michael of Pahrump; and daughter, Mildred Allen of Susanville, Calif. Services will be held on July 10, 1997 at 2 p.m. at the Parhump Family Mortuary. Members of the VFW, DAV. and Masonics will conduct the services. The family has requested donations be sent to the Shriners Children's Hospital. arrangements are being handled by the Pahrump Family Mortuary. ...........
