Strengthening
Program
Parents who are under
stress can register for a "Par-
ent Strengthening Program"
sponsored by No to Abuse, a
Nevada Outreach Training
Organization.
The program is a 12-week
class and will be held at the
family crisis and child abuse
prevention center, 1471 E
Hwy 372 (behind Desert Con-
nections).
Day and evening classes
will be available. Children
are welcome.

perform in
CCSN finale
The Spring Concerts se-
ries of the Community Col-
lege of Southern Nevada's
fine Arts Department con-
cludes tonight (Thursday,
May 22) with a three-part
choir presentation.
College Singers, South-
ern Nevada Jazz and the
Voice Class Choir with
brass quintet will perform
at 7:30 p.m. in the Nicholas
J. Horn Theatre of CCSN's
Cheyenne Campus, 3200 E.
Cheyenne Ave.
General admission is $5.
17 year old girl dies in
auto accident

A single car roll over
caused the death of 17 year
old Shannon Lusk and in-
jured her passenger on Sat-
urday May 10 in Belmont,
NV. The accident took place
on Monitor Valley Road.
According to Nye
County Sheriff's Office
Spokesman Tony Phillips,
Lusk's passenger, an uni-
dentified male in his mid
thirties, was the legal owner
of the car but it had been
Lusk who was behind the
wheel.
DUI was ruled out by
investigators as the cause
of the accident and the case
remains under investiga-
tion. The family was un-
available for comment.
