"Star Trek: First Contact," True Trekkie Tryst

In "First Contact," Captain Jean-Luc Picard, played by
Patrick Stewart, (who else), goes boldly where no man has
gone before .... or was that Captain James T. Kirk in the Star
Trek movie I-VII?
While going, boldly or not, Picard must battle boring
Borgs, who he has battled before.
What's a Borg, you might ask?
Borgs are a half-organic, half-machine race, with a hive
mentality and a purpose to assimilate and enslave all races. In
this process they.bore into The "Enterprise" crew members
and replace organic "tissue with machine parts. Except in
Data's case, machine parts are replaced by organic. For that 2
percent of the planet that has been untouched by the Star Trek
experience, Data, played by Brent Spiner, is an android.
When viewing movies that are spin-offs, the actions of the
main characters are predicable. Some of the more interesting
performances become the new members of the cast. In this
case there are two stand outs.
Alice Krige as the slimly, seductive, sadistic Borg queen
is a delight in her evilness.
film, for it remains true to the original concept of the TV
show.
It also stands well as just a good sci-fi action adventure.
In a future "Next Generation" film (it's a guarantee that
there will be one) this critic would like to see a story line that
would show more character on one or two of the major
players.

James Cromwell as the almost silent, Farmer Hoggett in m , , ,,, ,m,,
"Babe," has enough dialogue in this film to choke a hog. He
also shows a flair for comedy.
