Cooperative Extension--Jane Hutchins of the Cooperative Extension office stated that her paid position was the only one left in the Extension office because of budget cuts. She tried to emphasize that there will be no 4-H, Master Gardener or telephone services in Nye county because of the cuts. Jerry Sun, general manager of Longstreet' s Casino in AV, after stating that Longstreet's was the only nonprofit casino in the state, said that the casino was prepared to pay the room tax but asked that the money be used to proaaote tourism to the area.
