I am sure that you have all heard, but Mikes spaghetti sauce, for the senior center took the trophy, Mike and Jean, and Tanya took second place ribbon for table decorations. Great going guys, we are proud. Frank Billups was awarded the roving trophy for life, congratulations Frank. Glad to see Lavada Panner back with us, and still playing as much bingo as she can get in. The Memorial Service conducted by Jeff Taguchi at the Community Church here in Beatty in honor of Heide Bertram, an especially loved member of our Beatty family, was very touching in it's recollection of her attributes and her contribu- tions both to the community at large and individually with her family and friends. Prior to her death Heide had been planning special craft projects to be done in the new Beatty Senior Center's craft room, and a plaque in her honor will be placed on the wall in the new craft room for this generous and talented lady. Again, we'd like to offer our sincere condo- lences to her beloved husband Bert and the family. If your senior student is interested in attending community col- lege, university, or trade school next year, this form is the application for the PELL GRANT which, unlike a loan, does not have to be repaid. Pell Grants are awarded only to undergradu- ate students who have not earned bachelor's or profes- sional degrees, which would include the Class of 1997 graduates. Over 100 appli- cations were distributed to the current seniors.
