Flamingo Open 7-,5 Man - Sat Pohrump, i/ Closed Sun Public Meetings Scheduled for Planning Efforts The National Park Service (NPS), Bureau of Land Manage- merit (BLM), and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service have scheduled a series of workshops to update the public on the status of the Northern and Eastern Mojave planning effort and gather com- ments on the framework of alternatives that will be addressed i n the plan. The workshops are scheduled at the tbllowing loca- tions: Wednesday, April 16, 7-10 p.m. Visitor Center Audito- rium Furnace Creek Death Valley National Park.--- Wednesday, April 23, 7-10 p.m. Baker Community Center, Baker Blvd, Baker, CA---Tuesday, April 15, 7-10 p.m. Cashman Field, 850 N. Las Vegas Blvd., Room 107 Las Vegas, NV. The conceptual planning alternatives will outline a range of three possible alternatives, plus the no-action alternative. The interagency team is seeking input from the public on the array of alternatives and the details that will be addressed in the planning effort. The interagency planning team is led by NPS Ecologist Dennis Schramm. "Public participation is an important part of planning, "said Schramn. "We want to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to participate and voice their suggestions and voice their suggestions and concerns about the conceptual planning alternatives."
