Our average daily attendance is between 40 to 50 people, not counting the number ofhomebound we service in Tonopah plus the outlying areas. So as you can see, we keep busy. Our community might be small, but there is always activity of some sort going on. The Tonopah Chamber of Commerce committee mem- bers are working furiously on the Jim Butler Days Celebra- tion. Some folks don't realize the amount of work that goes into this event and the amount of time it takes to put it all together. So, if you have any ideas or suggestions, contact the Chamber. The entire community must work together to make the celebration a huge success. Your support is needed. Let's give them a helping hand. Guests? Yes! We do enjoy having guests. We had the pleasure this week of welcoming Lee Hubbard (Cook Minnie's husband), Carl Paice, Trish Rippie, Charlotte Sorenson (Mas- ter Garden Club members), and Nye County School Board members, Geraldine Harge, Peggy Smith, Debbie Wescoatt, Ran Trumell, Rick Scanlan, Marshall Forstat, Maryjo Rymer, John Terras, and B. Merrell. Returning to say hello was Jim Regan, and Manuel Baca who has just moved to Tonopah from San Diego. We do hope they enjoy their brief visit with us and will return soon. Do take a moment to review our menu for the coming week. We'd like to see ya here to play too! We are saddened by the recent death of one of our special friends, HIEDE BERTRAM, who was an asset to the Beatty community in general having served on several boards. She was in charge of the Christmas Bazaar for many years until last year when ill health prevented, but even then she and Irene Sorensen had a craft booth which included preserves and other edible items as well as crafts they'd made. Hiede and Irene conducted numerous bake sales for the benefit of the Senior Center and raised money to help with items that were needed for the new Center. This lovely multi-talented lady is missed greatly by all of us who knew her. Our sincere condolences to her husband Bert.
