2 Thursday, April 3, 1997 Pahrump Valley Gazette Three injured in two-car crash By Andy Holtmann A two-car collision on the corner of Basin and Barney attracted a small crowd of onlookers and slowed traffic on April 1. According to sheriff's deputies, the accident occurred around noon. A white Plymouth Colt Vista minivan struck a maroon Toyota Paseo traveling south on Barney. There were four people involved and at least three went to the hospital with undisclosed minor injuries. "It appears that the maroon Toyota had the right of way," said Captain Doug Richards of the sheriff's depart- ment. "Right now we can't tell the extent of the injuries, but I do know that the driver of the Toyota has a broken arm." A child was apparently sitting on the lap of the other passenger in the Toyotas. When the collision occurred, the child and passenger were both hurt. The extent of the injuries were unknown. Elaine Evangelist, the driver of the minivan was treated at the scene, loudly proclaimed, "it wasn't my fault." The accident is still under investigation. 4 7 IRE-GRAND OPENING Presents...
