Mike and Jean Edwards really outdid themselves on setting up for it. As usual the food was excellent. I never really know how to thank them for all the work they do. They help keep my interest alive. She's gonna blow any time now! Memorial Services for Kathleen Evonne Thompson and her son Ethan Hale Thompson were held on March 26 at the Beatty High School Gym. Kathy and her son were killed in a tragic accident on Hwy. 95 North of Beatty on March 19, which was ironically her twenty-fifth wedding anni- versary. Kathy was our cleaning person at the Beatty Se- nior Center for about three years until our budget cuts pro- hibited our hiring the cleaning done at the Center. Our sin- cere condolences to Evan Thompson III, her husband, and the rest of her family. Continen- tal breakfast to follow at the First Baptist Church. The Tonopah Master Garden Club is making great progress in the landscaping of the senior grounds. They certainly have their work eut out for them because the soil is full of rocks. It takes a lot of time and work sifting and fertilizing each load that it puts into the planters. We do appreciate all the work, time and effort everyone is putting into this project. Thanks to each and everyone for their help and support, The Thrift Shop has an opening for a sales clerk. It will be for 18 hours per week, Monday, Tuesday and Saturday. Applications are available at the Thrift Shop as well as the Center. Applications must be in by Friday, March 28. Stop by and pick up an application if you are interested. We were pleased to have Harlan and Elaine Casebier of Gardnerville for a return visit with son Scott and wife Billie Casebier, George and Dawn Little, Shirley Wadsworth, Connie Zulk, Dewey Stout, Bobby and Muriel Gober, Rachel Nickolson, Frank and Louise Mazur, and newcom- ers to Tonopah Dorothy and Jim Bailes from San Diego.
