The first day of spring
Spring arrives in rural Nevada with a neat-
record warming trend continuing throughout the
soutlern desert region. By mid-week tempera-
tures had risen to the high-eighties, rivaling pre-
war records set in 1939, according to statistics
maintained by the National Weather Service.
Spring flowers should soon start to appear
throughout the desert region. The annual bloom-
ing of wildflowers in Death Valley brings count-
less tourists to the desert region each year to wit-
ness Mother Nature's rite of Spring.
Weather, of course, is a favorite topic of con-
versation with most folks, but seldom does any-

one ever do anything about it -- that is, until now.
