George A. Manley, 59, died at Millitt Ranch, Nye County
(Family Home) on February 25, 1997. Born in Round
Mountain, Nevada on June 7, 1937, Manley lived in Nevada
all his life, in Smokey Valley, White River and Round
Mountain. He was a cattle rancher and had his own excava-
tion business, as well as a retired ting Engineer working
at the Nevada Test Site. He also served in the U.S. Army.
Manley was preceded in death by his father, Everett Ward
Manley. He is survived by his wife Linda Osterboudt Manley;
mother Ann Manley both of Smokey Valley; son Bronco Manley
of Tonopah; daughter Lisa Manley of Elk•; brothers Everett
"Buzz" of Smokey Valley and Bill Manley of Reese River, NV;
sisters Patsy Berg, Carla Pray, Glenna Keller all of Smokey Val-
ley and Sandra Manley of Winnemucca and grandchildren Dylan
and Morgan Manley of Tonopah, NV.
Memorial Sirvicves were held Saturday, March 1, 1997 at
the Simpson Center in Hadley, Nevada, 1 p.m. Private family

Joseph Opsitniek
Joseph William Opsitnick, Jr., 52 died at Pahrump Medical
Center in Pahrurnp, Nevada on February 24, 1997. Born in
Westmoreland Co., PA on September 6, 1944, he had lived in
Pahrump for 3 1/2 years, coming from Apple Valley, California.
Opsimick was a member of the Our Lady ofthe Valley Catholic
Church.
Opsitnick was preceded in death by his parents. He was sur-
vived by his wife Brenda Opsitnick ofPahrump, NV; sons Brian
Opsitnick of Pennsylvania, Robert Glunt of Pahnmap, NV, Ri-
chard Glunt of Pahrump, NV, Michael Glunliof Pahrump, NV
and Kenneth Glunt of Pahrump, NV; daughters Cindy Poque of
Pahrump, NV and Annette Opsitnick Heckman of Pennsylva-
nia; son-in-law Nick Poque of Pahrump, NV; daughter-in-law
Madelyn Glunt of Pahrump, NV; brother David Opsitnick of
Sun City, CA and 8 grandchildren.
Services were held at 11 a.rm on Feburary 28, 1997 at Our
Lady of the Valley Catholic Church in Pahrump, NV with in-
ternment to follow at Pahrump Community Cemetery. Father
Joseph Boshensky officiating.
All arrangements were handled by Desert Memorial funeral
home.
Clarence Labbe
Clarence Labbe, 62 died at his home in Pahrump, NV on
February 13, 199). ]3orn in Fort ient, Maine on May 4, 1934,
he had lived in Patu'ump since October of 1996 coming from
Wolcott, Connetticut. Labbe Was a machine oKerator (o TRW

Labbe is survived by his wife, Margaret Labbe of Pahrump,
NV; son Paul Labbe of St. Petersburg, CT; daughters Gal Pardis
of Bristol, FL, Kathy Zarrella of Waterbury, CT, Sharon Evon
of Bristol, CT and Pamela Michaud of Bristol, CT; brother
Gilford Labbe of Bristol, CT; sisters Yvonne St. Amano of
Pheonix, AZ and Armande Dube of Burlington, CT; and 12
grandchilren.
Services were held in Bristol, Connetticut.
All arrangements were handled by Desert Memorial funeral
home.
James E.Parson
James Edward Parson, 66 died February 17, 1997 at his home
in Beatty, NV. Born in Streetman, Texas on September 3, 1930,
he had lived 4 years in Beatty coming from South Port Orford,
Oregon. Parson was a self employed contractor, a part of the
Army, a member of the Baptist Church and a member of the
Disabled American Vets.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene of Beatty, NV; step-son
Jacob Doss of Beatty, NV; daughter Teresa Flake of Vancouver,
WA; brother Jerry Parson of Streetman, TX; and sisters Lena,
Ruby, Fay and Josephine.
Visitation and services were
held February 25 at 4 p.m.
Memorial services were held
at the Baptist Church in Beatty,
N. "

Eva Getz
Eva Getz, 89 died in Pahr-
ump, NV on February 8, 1997.
Bron in Elizabeth, New Jersey
on September 7, 1907, she had
lived in Pahrump for one year
and four months. She worked
as a milliner in a hat factory
before retiring.
She is survived by a daugh-
ter, Esther Neiderberg of Pahr-
ump, NV; son Leslie Cretz of
St. Louis, MO; 5 grandchil-
dren and 3 great grandchildren.
Graveside services were
held in St. Louis, M• on Feb-
ruary 12, 1997.
All arrangements were

Helen Watkins
Helen Henrietta Watkins, 72, died at Sunrise Hospital in Las
Vegas on February 14, 1997. Born November 14, 1924 in Chat-
tanooga, TN, she had lived in Pahrump for 2 years coming from
South Pittsburg, TN and was a member of the Baptist Church.
Watldns was preceded in death by her father. She was sur-
vived by her mother, Mary M. Cole; husband Costell Watldns;
daughter Gayle Moll-Upshaw of Pahrump, NV; 2 grandchil-
dren and 2 great grandchildren.
Viewing was from 12:30 until 2 p.m. on February 24, 1997,
and service at I p.m. at the First Southern Baptist Church. Pas-
tor Cecil Slaghter officiated. Intemmnet was held at Pahrump
Community Cemetery.
All arrangrnents were handled by the Neptune Society of Nye
County.
David G.Gilbertson
David Gorden Gilbertson, 49, died February 14, 1997 at the
UMC Hospital in Las Vegas. Born on July 12, 1947 in Califor-
nia, he had lived in Pahrump, Nevada for 5 years coming from
Elpasio, Texas. Also, he worked for Dave's Repair Service, re-
tired, and erved in the Navy for 4 years.
Gilbertson was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Giiberst0n
of Pahrump, NV. He is survived by daughters Tracy Lowe of
Michigan, Lorie Watldns of Las Vegas, NV, Shelly Lashley of
Nebraska and Jody Boris of Colorado; sons Calvin of Pahrump,
NV and Jashua Lefferts of Pahrump, NV and 8 beautiful grand-
children.
Grave side services were held February 18, 1997 at the Pahr-
ump Cemetery at 3:30 p.m. Donations can be given to family
or donor's choice in lieu of flowers.
