Jo Godshall of Resting Springs Ranch and her
horse, 12 year old pure bred Arabian gelding, Dominic
Ztarr competed in the nations second largest Ara-
bian horse show. Jo and Dora entered 5 training
level Dressage classes and placed in all of them, win-
ning two blue ribbons, two second place & one fifth
place. This is the first time they have competed at the
Arizona show and the winning such honors by new-
comers is simply unheard of.
Jo's daughter Kelly Whyte and granddaughter
Lauren accompanied her to Scottsdale. Lauren, age
10 of Las Vegas, tides a beautiful white Arabian and
is high point rider in her age group in the Nevada
State Horseman's Association. Lauren competed in
Hunts Seat and Western Pleasure classes and in ad-
dition to taking placings, took a top ten in Western
horsemanship in the Arizona show.
Jo raised Dora, a beautiful bay, from a colt and has
done all of his training. In preparing for the Arizona
show they had no formal trainer in Dressage, just the
information Jo had gleaned from books and instruc-
tions. Jo and Dora have competed many times and
have won honors in ttunter Pleasure classes in the
Las Vegas Arabian shows. The training is done at
their home on the historical ranch located on the old
Spanish Trail five miles east of Tecopa. She and her
husband Harry moved there in 1981 and have cre-
ated a beautiful horse ranch with many palm trees
and pastures.
