Obituaries II II Mill HOWARD St. George - "CJ" (Jay) Howard was born on October 18, 1918 in Altus, Oklahoma and passed on February 14, 1997 in St.George, Utah, tbllowing an exended illness. "C J" was born to Sylvester and Hattie Jemeyson. Hattie died in childbirth and Sylvester died a short time later. Sam and Ellen Howard , Iongtime friends of the Jemeysons, adopted "CJ" (Charles Jemeyson) and raised him as their own at their home in Phoenix, Arizona. He married June Stevenson on October 22, 1942 in Phoe- nix, Arizona. After the war, they moved to Tonopah, Ne- vada, where they settled and raised their family. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, and chil- dren William Michael Howard and spouse, Carey of Pleasanton, Calif. and Melinda Ellen Howard Forsberg and her spouse Jack of Garland, Utah; Five grandchil- dren: Chan Hjo Forsberg, Atha Forsberg, Katherine Lauren Howard, Blair Jemeyson Howard and Jace Michael Howard, and two great-grandchildren, Jack Albert Bingham and Lorin Brad Bingham. "CJ" was reunited with his brothers and sister when he was 42. One brother remains, David Jemeyson and spouse Mary of San Antonio, TX. He was in the US Cavalry and served in the US Navy during World War II. He made his living by owning and operating casinos and restaurants, ranching, and working in law enforcement. He was elected sheriffofNye County, Nevada. Upon his retirement, he and June bought a semi and hit the road for seven years. We will remember him as our beloved husband, father, grandfather, friend and patriarch of our family. He showed much of his love by serving others. His greatest gift to his family was the love he gave to each member. A memorial service will be held in Pahrump, NV, at the United Methodist Church at 1300 E. State Hwy. 372, Feb- ruary 20, 1997 at 1:00 p.m. (Nevada Time) Reception to follow. Arrangements under the direction of Metcalf Mor- tuary, St. George, UT (801)-673-4221. WUEST Betty Louise (Keasey) Wuest, 74, died on February 17. 1997 al her residence in Pahrump, Nevada. Born on Octo- ber 4. 1922 in Osbourne. Ohio. she was a 19 year resident of Pahrump, coming fiom San Jose, California. She was affiliated with the Pahrump VFW and Moose Lodge. Wuest is survived by her husband, George Albert Wuest; sons Ronald A. Peterson of Pahrump and John Keasey of San Jose, California; brother Albert Monticue of Bloomington, California. A private family service was ar- ranged by the Neptune Society of Nye County. God saw you were getting tired and a cure was not to be .... So he put His arms around you and whispered, "Come with me." With tearful eyes we watched you suffer and saw you fade away Although we loved you dearly, we could not help you stay. A gentle heart stopped beating; a special woman was put to rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best.
