NOTICE IS HEREBY
GIVEN that the Board of
County Commissioners of the
County of Nye, State of Ne-
vada will accept written Pro-
posals for the supply, during
the period February 18, 1997
to December 31, 1997, of ap-
proximately I0,000 tons of
the following road material:
TYPE 11 GRAVE&
(Per Caltrans Specification
26-1.02B, 3/4" maximum,
Class 2 Aggregate base.
Copy furnished upon re-
quest.)
The Contractor will be re-
quired to:
I. Provide all materials,
in the type/quality and quan-
tity specified, and in a timely
fashion.
2. Provide an initial, sepa-
rately maintained stockpile of
test-approved material of not
less than 7,000 cubic yards,
prior to County receipt of any
materials.
3. After the County begins
taking receipt of material
from the separately main-
tained stockpile, maintain
that stockpile at no less vol-
ume than 4,000 cubic yards.
4. Cooperate fully with all
necessary, testing to assure the
type and quality of the mate-
rims provided to the County.
5. Provide for certified
weighing Of all material re-
ceived by the County, at the
Contractor's expense.
The Contractor must:
1, Post a bid bond equal to
five percent (5%) of the
Contractor's bid.
2. Post aperformance bond
"equal to fifty percent (50%)
of the Contractor's bid.
3. Post a payment bond
equal to fifty percent (50%)
of the Contractor's bid,
4 Pay his or her employ-
ees at the prevailing rate of
wages, as provided in NRS
Chapter 338.
5. Carry vehicle liability
insurance on each truck or
other vehicle used in the per-
formance of the Contract, in
an amount not less than
$150,000f300,000 single per-
son, single accident coverage,
with the County named as an
additional insured.
6. Carry a minimum of
$150,000 general liability in-
surance.
7. Pay SIIS for the Con-
tractor and all employees.
8. Withhold and pay all
applicable federal, state and/
or local taxes.
9, provide proof of quali-
fication and ability to supply
mterials required, in-
cluding documentation of
right to access to materials,
if applicable.
Each bidder must supply
the price for furnishing Type
II gravel from February 18,
1997 through December 31,
1997. Each bid should in-
clude the price per ton for
the road materials if they are
picked up by Nye County
Road Department personnel
or delivered (10 mile radius
of pit).
A "bid package" has been
prepared by the County and
includes the general Instruc-
tions to Bidders; a detailed
summary of the scope of the
proposed Contract; the speci-
fications for the materials to
be provided; and the Proposal
documents which must be
submitted by all persons de-
siring to bid on the proposed
contract. The bid package,
including the Proposal sub-
mitred by the successful bid-
der, will become a part of the
Contract which is awarded.
