PVPAC forms programs The Pahrump Visual and Performing Arts Council (PVPAC) held its 3rd annual potluck dinner and general business meeting Tuesday at the Senior Center on Basin Road. After dinner, the meeting was called to order by Brian Buckingham, Presi- dent, PVPAC. Terry Sonneson reported on the Performing Arts Com- mittee. The committee will start planning the 3rd Annual Family Festival to occur in September. The committee is trying to promote the Per- forming Arts by bringing in outside performers. Loretta Lindell reported for the Art & Sol Committee. There will be a Fiber Arts & Crafts Show February 8. There will be various arts and crafts using all fibers, but "Terry Smith, AI Portwood, and Don Rust were elected to the board of PVPA C." featuring quilters, weavers, basket makers, and fabric and clothing designers. On February 7 the committee will have an evening reception fund-raiser, "Just Dessert" from 7 - 9 p.m. at the Ruud Community Center. Fancy desserts, fresh fruit, cham- pagne punch and coffee will be served. Tickets for "Just Desserts" at $5 each and may be pur- chased in advance at TLAQUEPAQUE FABRICS & CRAFTS, THE READING OASIS and COMMON GROUNDS, or at the door. Both events are open to the public.
