TONOPAH - The following actions and events took
place at the first meeting of the new Nye County Board of
Commissioners. held Monday, January 6, in Tonopah.
• *Gabbs subject to involuntary disincorporation
- The City of Gabbs will cease to exist as such effective
March 1", 1997. According to Nevada Revised Statutes,

* Treasurer ordered to sell trust property - The
commissioners passed a resolution ordering Nye
County Treasurer Pat Foster to conduct a public auc-
tion and sell any properties held in trust by the county.

Names asking Crystal be officially recognized
The resolution is to document the commissioner's
support for the designation, a requirement by both
the state and fed6ral Geographic Names Board,
It is expected several months will pass before
Crystal will have highway sigfis and a "place on the
map."
* Revert elected Chairman of Licensing and
Liquor Board - When the commissioners adjourned
to address the Nye County Licensing and Liquor
Board, the first item was to elect a chairman.
Pahrump's Red Copass has chaired the hoard for the
past four years. Dick Carver nominated Revert and
new member Bob Davis seconded. Cameron McRae,
Red Copass, Carver and Davis voted for the motion.

Pursuant to NRS 244.085 (7), the N
County Board of Commissioners will hold a
joint meeting with the Lincoln and White Pine
Boards of Commissioners and representatives
from the BLM and U.S. Forest Service on
January 23, 1997, at 10 a.m., to discuss
issues relating to public lands. The meeting
will be held at the Bristlecone Convention
Center, 150 - 6 street, Ely, Nevada. The
meeting is informational only. No decisions
will be made by the Nye County Board of
Commissioners, and no actions by the Nye
County Board of Zommissioners will be taken
at this meeting.
