, Obituaries MEDINA Mariano M. Medina, 72, died December 21, 1996 at his residence in Pahrump. Born February 21, 1924 in San Pedro, California; Medina was a general contractor in the con- struction industry. Medina served in the Army and was a member of the Moose Lodge and American Veterans organizations. He is survived by brothers Daniel Medina, David Medina and Mariano Thomas Medina, all of San Pedro, California; sister Carmen Taylor of Carson California; daughters Eleanor Kordich of San Pedro and Irene Back of Norwalk, California; 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Services were held at Greenhill Cemetery in San Pedro, California. REAVES Joseph E. Reaves, 59, died December 21, 1996 at St. Rose Dominican Hospital in Las Vegas. Born February 25, 1937 in Montgom- ery, Alabama. Reaves was a retired auto mechanic. Reaves served in the Air Force and was a resident of Pahrump tar 5 years. He is survived by his wife Nellie Reaves of Pahrump; brothers Doddes Reaves and Charles Reaves both of Hartford, Connecticut; sisters Mary Reaves and Geneva Turner both of Montgom- ery, Alabama; son Joseph (JoJo) Reilly of Harttbrd , Connecticut; daughters Cessik Reaves and Donna Sue Riley both of Hart- ford, Connecticut; step sons Clark Miller and Joe Miller ofPahrump; step daughters Marash, Marilla and Holly Miller of Pahrump; 15 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Arrangements are being handled by the Pahrump Family Mortuary. Donations are being accepted in lieu of flowers. SCHOFFSTALL Harry Richard Schoffstall, 81, died De- cember 20, 1996 at his residence in Pahrump. Born August 20, 1915 in Terre Haute, Indiana Schoffstall was a truck driver and a member of the Teamsters. Heis survived by brother Jack Schoffstall of Terre Haute, Indiana; sister Edith Cheschire of Terre Haute, Indiana; sons Richard Schoffstall of Apple Valley, Califor- nia, Allen Schoffstall of Lebanon, Missouri, Robert Schoffstall of Pahrump, Nevada, Roy Schoffstall of Yuba City, California, Harry Schoffstall of Cary, Illinois, Tom SchoffstaU of Apple Valley, California and Steve Schoffstall of Stoutland, Missouri; 24 grand- children and 23 great grandchildren. Ar- rangements are being handled by the Neptune Society of Nye County. HORNBACK Jean E. Hornback, 71, died December 28, 1996 at Pahrump Medical Center. Born Au- gust 1,1925 in Oklahoma, Hornback lived in Pahrump for 12 years coming from El Monte, CA. An insurance broker, Hornback be- longed to the Moose Lodge. Hornback is survived by her husband Richard Hornback of Pahrump. All arrangements have been handled by Pahrump Family Mortuary. BROAD Susan Broad, 36, died December 28, 1996 at her residence in Pahrump, NV. Born March 19,1960in Alameda, CA, Broad was a 14 year resident of Pahrump. She is survived by her father, Conrad Edward Broad and mother Lillian Elizabeth Broad ofPahrump; a brother Charles Edward Broad of Castro Valley, CA and sisters Karen Smith of Pahrump and Marie Green ofLas Vegas, NV. Memorial Services are planned for Friday, January 3, 1996 at 10 a.m. at the Pahrump Community Cemetery with Chaplin Gale Green from Safe Harbor Hospice, Inc. officiating. Inurnment to fol- low.
